A standard spy camera is usually concealed in a normal household object. It has a wire that runs from the camera to the recorder and a power cord that needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. These are the most widely recognized spy cameras and the most often used. Sometimes the power and video wires are put into one cable.
Spy cameras can vary and some contain properties of a mixture of different types of cameras. As technology gets better so do spy cameras. Testing out a camera before buying is the best way to know how the picture quality will be. The range of quality will vary from camera to camera and no one type is said to be the best.
